Our new Zero Drop Heritage collection has been in the works for nearly a year, and it's finally here. Each pair is unique, produced in limited editions, and crafted with patience, skill, and the kind of care that only comes from taking your time.
Made in a small family-run workshop in Portugal, where the craft of shoemaking has been passed down for over a century.
Today, there are very few workshops left in Europe that continue to work this way—with the time, care, and manual labor that this type of construction requires. We choose to work this way because it is the best way to make a well-crafted, authentic, and durable shoe. Furthermore, it helps keep the craft and the attention to detail alive over time.
It's a slower, more human process, based on trust, collaboration, and years of shared experience. For us, it's the only way to create something we can stand behind with complete honesty.
We use top-quality Italian leather sourced from local suppliers we know and trust. Each piece of leather is a certified byproduct of the food industry, and its full traceability is guaranteed. We never support animal cruelty, and it is essential for us to know exactly where our materials come from. We choose natural leather because it ages beautifully, is breathable, durable, and—when treated traditionally—is more naturally biodegradable than many modern materials. Even so, we continue to explore new natural alternatives that align with our values and our long-term vision.

We care deeply about design, but even more so about the people and processes behind each pair. We choose our materials based on their origin and integrity, not their cost, and we work exclusively with local artisans and suppliers who share our respect for the craft.
High-quality handmade shoes aren't cheap. But if you compare our prices to those of other brands made in the same artisanal workshop—using similar or even higher-quality materials and meticulous craftsmanship—you'll notice the difference. Many of those brands sell their shoes for €400, €600, or more.
The reason our prices are more affordable is simple: we don’t sell through stores or work with middlemen. By selling directly, we avoid the typical markups of traditional retail. This allows us to offer handmade shoes, crafted from premium materials using artisanal techniques, at a fair price that reflects their quality.
We are an independent company, with no investors or external pressures. This gives us the freedom to work at our own pace, produce in small batches, and avoid overproduction, ensuring that every pair is made with a genuine purpose. For us, sustainability isn’t a trend—it’s simply the way we’ve learned to work: responsibly, with a personal touch, and mindful of the impact we leave behind.
We are inspired by the ocean, nature, and the peaceful rhythm of the outdoors, and that serene way of moving through the world is reflected in how we design.
This collection marks a new chapter for Dolfie New Era, exploring new territory without straying from our principles. It isn't a purely minimalist barefoot collection, but it retains the wide last and zero-drop sole you're already familiar with, featuring slightly thicker soles that provide greater cushioning and support.
