Barefoot footwear and adaptation
Our models are designed to better respect the natural shape and movement of the foot, with a wide, anatomical toe box and a Zero Drop design, meaning there is no difference in height between the heel and the front of the foot. This helps maintain a more natural position and gives the toes more freedom.
In our Barefoot New Era, we also incorporate flexible soles that promote greater freedom of movement and a more natural feeling when walking.
Not all of our models offer the same barefoot experience. Our New Era Barefoot collection combines a wide, anatomical toe box, a zero-drop design, and flexible soles. The Heritage Zero Drop models maintain a wide toe box and zero-drop design but have a more structured and less flexible construction.
Zero Drop means that the heel and the forefoot are at the same height, with no elevation in the heel area. This promotes a more natural foot position and a gait closer to natural movement.
Yes. If you're coming from conventional footwear, we recommend making the transition gradually, slowly increasing the amount of time you wear them. You can start with the 8mm or 6mm for extra cushioning while you get used to the feel of barefoot shoes.
If you notice discomfort during the adaptation period, reduce the usage time and allow your body to adapt gradually.
The 2mm offers a more minimalist feel and enhanced ground sensation. With less material between the foot and the ground, the foot receives more feedback from the terrain and can move more naturally and actively. With continued use, this type of footwear can also promote greater activation of the foot muscles.
The 6mm provides more cushioning and reduces the direct feel of the ground, so it may be more comfortable for those coming from conventional footwear or who prefer a more gradual transition to barefoot.
If you prefer even more cushioning, you can combine the 6mm with the extra 2mm for a more cushioned feel, similar to an 8mm insole.
Please note: Increasing the thickness of the insole also reduces the internal space of the shoe. Depending on your preferred fit and the shape of your foot, you may need to choose a larger size.
Yes. The insoles of our barefoot models are removable, so you can replace them with your own orthotic insoles.
Please note that the width, thickness, and volume of your insole can affect the shoe's fit. If you'd like to check compatibility before purchasing, please contact us and we'll help you with the internal measurements of the model you're interested in.
If you use insoles for a specific condition, we recommend also consulting with your specialist.
Our models are designed with a wide, anatomical toe box, but the fit may vary depending on the last of each model and the shape of your foot.
If you have narrow feet, especially wide feet, or a high instep, always consult the specific size guide for that model. You can also take our "Find Your Size" quiz or contact us before placing your order , and we'll help you find the perfect fit.
Size and fit
Measure the length and width of both feet and, if possible, the removable insole of a pair of shoes that fit you well, preferably barefoot.
Compare these measurements with the specific size guide for each model and always use the measurement of the largest foot as a reference.

1 – Place a sheet of paper on the floor, against a wall, and rest your heel against the wall.
2 – Place a book upright next to the longest toe and mark on the sheet of paper the point where the foot ends.
3 – Next, measure the distance from the wall to the mark. Repeat the process with both feet and always use the measurement of the longer foot.
To measure the width, measure the widest part of your foot, usually at the metatarsal area. Repeat the measurement on both feet and use the larger measurement.
Yes. It's one of the best references for choosing your size, especially if it's a pair of barefoot shoes that you know fit you well.
If you're not yet using barefoot shoes, the insole of a conventional shoe may not be a reliable reference, as the shape, width, and interior space can vary significantly. In that case, we recommend carefully measuring your feet and, if you have any questions, contacting us before placing your order.
If you're measuring an insole, remove it and measure from heel to toe. If it's flat, like Dolfie insoles, use the full measurement. If it has a small raised edge at the heel, subtract approximately 0.4–0.5 cm from the total length for a more accurate comparison.

- The length of both feet.
- The width of both feet.
- The measurement of the inner insole of a shoe that fits you well, preferably barefoot.
- Your fit preference: tighter, normal, or looser.
As a general guideline, we recommend leaving between 0.5 and 1 cm between the length of your foot and the length of the insole, depending on the model, the shape of your foot and the type of fit you prefer.
If you prefer a tighter fit, you can go closer to the minimum margin. If you like more space in front of your fingers, you can go closer to the maximum recommended margin.
We know that some people prefer to leave a larger margin, even 1.2–1.5 cm. In our models, this extra space can make the shoe feel too loose or alter the fit, so we recommend not exceeding approximately 1 cm, unless you are already accustomed to wearing shoes with more room.
Keep in mind that in warm weather, when walking for long periods, or at the end of the day, your feet may swell slightly. If you'll be wearing the shoes mainly in summer or for extended periods, it might be more comfortable to opt for a 1 cm heel lift rather than the 0.5 cm minimum.
No. We use different lasts, soles, and construction methods, so sizing may vary between models.

Yes. Natural leather softens and gives slightly with use, gradually adapting to the foot. Textile materials may behave differently depending on their composition and structure.

Most of our barefoot models include two removable insoles:
- A 2mm, for a closer feel to the ground and more interior space.
- A 6mm, for greater cushioning and a more comfortable transition to barefoot.
Always check the product details to confirm which insoles are included.

Orders and shipments
All orders are prepared and shipped from our warehouse in Madrid.
We normally prepare and ship orders within 24 to 48 business hours.
During product launches, pre-sales, Black Friday, Christmas, or other periods of high demand, preparation may take a little longer. If a product has a specific shipping date, we will clearly indicate it on its product page.
Delivery times depend on the destination. In mainland Spain, it is usually 1–3 business days, in Europe 2–14 business days depending on the region, and for international destinations 5–20 business days.
Delivery times are estimates and may vary during periods of high demand, for remote destinations, or due to carrier and customs circumstances.

Shipping costs depend on the destination.
In mainland Spain and Portugal, shipping costs €5 and is free for orders over €150.
In the Balearic Islands, it costs €7 and is free for orders over €150.
In the Canary Islands, it costs €12 and is free for orders over €150.
In EU Zone 1, shipping costs €10 and is free for orders over €150.
In EU Zone 2, it costs €20 and is free for orders over €250.
In the UK, shipping costs €10 and is free for orders over €150.
In Switzerland and Norway, it costs €15 and is free for orders over €200.
Shipping to the United States, Canada, and Mexico costs €20 . Shipping to Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, and the rest of the world costs €25 .

Yes. We ship to numerous international destinations.
You can check if we ship to your country by entering your address during the checkout process or by consulting our Shipping Policy, where you will find all destinations, rates and estimated delivery times.
Whenever the destination allows, we ship orders DDP, with taxes, fees and duties paid in advance.
In exceptional circumstances, local customs authorities may request additional documentation or apply an unforeseen charge.
Returns & Exchanges
Yes, in destinations where we offer size exchange service. The conditions and cost depend on the country from which the order was placed.

In EU Zone 1, the first currency exchange costs €7. In other destinations, the direct exchange service may not be available.

Only one size exchange is allowed per order . Once the exchange is completed, the order is considered final and no further exchanges or returns will be accepted.
The first change is free in mainland Spain and Portugal. In other destinations, fees may apply or direct changes may not be available.

No. Once a size exchange is completed, the order is considered final and no further returns or exchanges will be accepted.
This is because each change involves several logistical movements, such as collection, management and a new shipment, in addition to high transport costs that Dolfie assumes totally or partially.
The cost of the return depends on the destination:
Mainland Spain and Portugal: €10 per pair.
Balearic Islands: €10 per pair.
Canary Islands: €14 per pair.
EU Zone 1: €15 per pair.
EU Zone 2: €25 per pair.
The return shipping fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
If you prefer to receive Dolfie Store Credit instead of a refund, Dolfie will cover the full return shipping fee and you will receive 100% of the value of the returned items in store credit.

If the item arrives used, dirty, damaged, or in a condition other than the original, we may refuse the exchange or refund or apply a deduction for loss of value.
For hygiene reasons, socks cannot be exchanged or returned.
Stock, replenishments and new releases
We can't guarantee it. We work in small production runs and many of our collections are limited edition.
Some models or sizes may be restocked, but others may not be produced in the exact same way once they are sold out.
We work with selected materials for each production, especially natural leathers that may present variations in tone, texture and finish.
When a batch runs out, it is not always possible to reproduce the exact same color, finish, or combination of materials.
Yes. Sometimes we develop new versions, colors, or material combinations inspired by previous models, even if they are not exactly the same.

Brand, manufacturing and materials
Our shoes are handcrafted in small, specialized workshops in Portugal, where we work in small-scale productions and take special care with the materials, finishes, and every detail of the process.
We primarily work with carefully selected European leathers, including Italian leather from suppliers certified by the Leather Working Group (LWG). We also use suede, split leather, fabrics, and other natural materials depending on the design of each model.
In our collection you will also find vegan models, made with plant-based materials such as organic cotton, hemp and linen.

Yes. We have a limited selection of vegan models made with plant-based materials, such as hemp, organic cotton, and linen.
We continue to search for leather alternatives that are durable, soft to the touch, and made with the most natural ingredients possible. We prefer not to use synthetic materials with a high plastic content simply to expand our vegan offerings.
In our leather models we use leathers sourced from by-products of the food industry and we work with suppliers certified by

We are an independent brand and we prefer to work in limited productions, closely monitoring the quality, materials and every detail of the process.
This approach allows us to avoid overproduction and create collections with more character and their own identity.
Some models may offer some resistance to moisture, but should not be considered waterproof unless expressly stated in the product specifications.
To improve protection against water and stains, you can use products specifically designed for leather, suede, nubuck, or fabrics. Always use a product suitable for each material and test it first on an inconspicuous area.

Insoles and accessories
We do not currently sell our original insoles separately.
You can use other compatible barefoot insoles, as long as they have a shape, thickness, and dimensions suitable for the inside of the model.
If you have any doubts about the compatibility of a insole, write to us before buying or using it and we will help you with the model's measurements.
