Barefoot Footwear and Adaptation

Our models are designed to better accommodate the foot's natural shape and movement, with a wide, anatomically shaped toe box and a Zero Drop design—meaning there is no height difference between the heel and the forefoot. This helps maintain a more natural position and gives the toes more freedom.

In our Barefoot New Era collection, we've also incorporated flexible soles that promote greater freedom of movement and a more natural walking experience.

Not all of our models offer the same barefoot experience.
Our Barefoot New Era collection combines a wide, anatomically shaped toe box, a Zero Drop design, and flexible soles. The Heritage Zero Drop models feature a wide toe box and a Zero Drop design, but have a more structured and less flexible construction.

"Zero Drop" means that the heel and the forefoot are at the same height, with no elevation in the heel area. This promotes a more natural foot position and a gait that more closely mimics natural movement.

Yes. If you're coming from conventional shoes, we recommend making the transition gradually, slowly increasing the amount of time you wear them. You can start with the 8- or 6-mm insole to enjoy more cushioning while you get used to the feel of barefoot shoes.

If you experience discomfort during the adjustment period, reduce the amount of time you wear them and let your body adjust gradually.

The 2-mm sole offers a more minimalist experience and a greater sense of the ground beneath your feet. Because there is less material between your foot and the ground, your foot receives more feedback from the terrain and can move in a more natural and active way. With gradual use, this type of footwear can also promote greater engagement of the foot’s muscles.

The 6-mm insole provides more cushioning and reduces the direct feel of the ground, so it may be more comfortable for those coming from conventional footwear or who prefer a more gradual transition to barefoot running.

If you prefer even more cushioning, you can combine the 6-mm insole with the 2-mm extra insole to achieve a more cushioned feel, similar to an 8-mm insole.

Please note: Increasing the thickness of the insole also reduces the interior space of the shoe. Depending on your preferred fit and the shape of your foot, you may need to choose a larger size.

Yes. The insoles in our barefoot models are removable, so you can replace them with your own orthotic insoles.

Please note that the width, thickness, and volume of your insole may affect the fit of the shoe. If you'd like to check for compatibility before purchasing, please contact us and we'll help you with the interior measurements of the model you're interested in.

If you use insoles for a specific condition, we recommend that you also consult with your specialist.

Our shoes are designed with a wide, anatomically shaped toe box, but the fit may vary depending on each model's last and the shape of your foot.

If you have a narrow foot, an especially wide foot, or a high instep, always check the size guide specific to that model. You can also take our “Find Your Size” quiz or contact us before placing your order, and we’ll help you find the best option for you.

Size and Fit

Measure the length and width of both feet and, if possible, the removable insole of a pair of shoes that fit you well—preferably barefoot shoes.

Compare these measurements with the size chart for each specific model, and always use the measurement of your larger foot as a reference.

You can also take our “Find Your Size” quizto get a personalized recommendation.

If you still have questions, please contact us before placing your order. We'd be happy to help you personally choose the best size.

1 – Place a sheet of paper on the floor, right up against a wall, and rest your heel against the wall.

2 – Place a book upright next to your longest finger and mark the spot on the page where the base of your finger ends.

3 – Next, measure the distance from the wall to the mark. Repeat the process with both feet, and always use the measurement of the longer foot.

To measure the width, measure the widest part of your foot, usually at the metatarsal area. Repeat the measurement on both feet and use the larger measurement.

Yes. It's one of the best ways to determine your size, especially if you're looking for barefoot shoes that you know fit you well.

If you don't currently wear barefoot shoes, the insole of a conventional shoe may not be a reliable guide, since the shape, width, and interior space can vary significantly. In that case, we recommend measuring your feet carefully and, if you have any questions, contacting us before placing your order.

If you're measuring an insole, remove it and measure it from the heel to the toe. If it's flat, like Dolfie insoles, use the full measurement. If it has a small raised edge at the heel, subtract approximately 0.4–0.5 cm from the total length for a more accurate comparison.

Next, compare that measurement to the size guide for that specific model, or enter it into our size quiz.

We recommend that you have the following ready:
  • The length of both feet.
  • The width of both feet.
  • Measure the inside of a shoe that fits you well—preferably barefoot.
  • Your preferred fit: snug, regular, or loose.
The more information you provide, the more accurate the recommendation will be.

As a general guideline, we recommend leaving between 0.5 and 1 cm between the length of your foot and the length of the insole, depending on the model, the shape of your foot, and your preferred fit.

If you prefer a tighter fit, you can go closer to the minimum size. If you like to have more room at the front of your toes, you can go closer to the recommended maximum size.

We know that some people prefer to leave a wider margin—even as much as 1.2–1.5 cm. In our models, that extra space can make the shoes feel too loose or alter the fit, so we recommend not exceeding approximately 1 cm, unless you're already used to having more space.

Keep in mind that, due to the heat, walking for many hours, or at the end of the day, your feet may swell slightly. If you plan to wear the shoes mainly in the summer or for long periods of time, it may be more comfortable to aim for the 1-centimeter margin rather than the minimum of 0.5 centimeters.

No. We use different lasts, soles, and construction methods, so sizes may vary by model.
Always check the size guide specific to the model you want to buy.

Take our quiz and see the specific recommendation for your model.
Your choice will also depend on the width and volume of your foot, the shoe's material, and whether you prefer a snug or roomier fit.
If you still have questions, please contact us before placing your order.

Yes. Natural leather softens and stretches slightly with use, gradually molding to the shape of your foot. Textile materials may behave differently depending on their composition and structure.

Always check the specific description for each model.

Most of our barefoot models include two removable insoles:

  • A 2-mm sole, for a more grounded feel and more interior space.
  • A 6-mm insole, for greater cushioning and a more comfortable transition to barefoot running.

Always check the product page for each item to confirm which templates are included.

The quiz provides a recommendation based on your measurements, the style you've chosen, and your fit preferences, but every foot is different.

If you have any questions, a specific need, or are between sizes, please contact us before placing your order, and we'll help you choose the best option.

You can write to us at orders@dolfieparadise.com or send us a WhatsApp message at+34 656 889 344.
To help us serve you better, please tell us the model you'd like to purchase, the length and width of both feet, and, if possible, the size of the insole of a pair of shoes that fit you well—preferably barefoot shoes.

Yes, in destinations where we offer a size exchange service. The terms and cost depend on the country from which the order was placed.

Check out our Exchange and Return Policy to view rates, available destinations, and all terms and conditions.

In EU Zone 1, the first exchange costs €7. In other destinations, the direct exchange service may not be available.

We are currently unable to accept exchanges or returns from the United Kingdom, Switzerland, non-Western European countries, Turkey, North America, South America, Asia, Africa, or Russia.
The high costs of transportation, imports, and customs mean that we cannot manage these operations in a sustainable manner.

Only one size exchange is allowed per order. Once the exchange is complete, the order is considered final, and no further exchanges or returns will be accepted.

The first exchange is free in mainland Spain and Portugal. For other destinations, fees may apply, or direct exchange may not be available.

Check out our  Exchange and Return Policy to see all destinations, rates, and terms and conditions.

No. Once a size exchange has been completed, the order is considered final, and no further returns or exchanges will be accepted.

The cost of the return depends on the destination:

Mainland Spain and Portugal: €10 per pair.
Balearic Islands: €10 per pair.
Canary Islands: €14 per pair.
EU Zone 1: €15 per pair.
EU Zone 2: €25 per pair.

The return fee will be deducted from the refund amount.

If you prefer to receive Dolfie Store Credit instead of a refund, Dolfie will cover the full return shipping cost, and you will receive 100% of the value of the returned products as store credit.

Check out our Exchange and Return Policy to see all destinations, rates, and conditions.

Our team will verify that the product and its packaging are in perfect condition.
Once the return has been approved, we will process the exchange or refund.

If the item arrives used, dirty, damaged, or in a condition different from its original state, we may refuse the exchange or return or apply a deduction for loss of value.

In-Stock Items, Restocks, and New Releases

We can't guarantee that. We work with small production runs, and many of our collections are limited editions.

Some models or sizes may be restocked, but others may not be produced again in exactly the same form once they are sold out.

We work with materials selected specifically for each production, particularly natural leathers, which may vary in color, texture, and finish.

When a batch runs out, it is not always possible to reproduce the exact same color, finish, or combination of materials.

Yes. Sometimes we develop new versions, colors, or combinations of materials inspired by previous models, even if they aren't exactly the same.

Sign up for our newsletter at the bottom of the website and follow us on Instagram to stay up to date on upcoming releases, restocks, and new arrivals.

We also post important announcements on the main banner of our website.

Brand, Manufacturer, and Materials

Our shoes are handcrafted in small, specialized workshops in Portugal, where we produce them on a small scale and pay special attention to the materials, finishes, and every detail of the process.

We work primarily with carefully selected European leathers, including Italian leather from suppliers certified by the Leather Working Group (LWG). We also use suede, split leather, fabrics, and other natural materials depending on the design of each model.

In our collection, you'll also find vegan styles made from plant-based materials such as organic cotton, hemp, and linen.

Always check the product information sheet for each item to find out its exact ingredients.

Yes. We have a limited selection of vegan styles made from plant-based materials, such as hemp, organic cotton, and linen.

We continue to seek alternatives to leather that are durable, pleasant to the touch, and made from ingredients that are as natural as possible. We prefer not to use synthetic materials with a high plastic content just to expand our vegan offerings.

In our leather products, we use leather derived from byproducts of the food industry, and we work with suppliers certified by

Leather Working Group (LWG).

Always check the product information sheet for each item to find out its exact ingredients.

We are an independent brand, and we prefer to work on limited-run productions, paying close attention to quality, materials, and every detail of the process.

This approach allows us to avoid overproduction and create collections with more character and a distinct identity.

Some models may offer some resistance to moisture, but they should not be considered waterproof unless this is expressly stated in the product description.

To improve protection against water and stains, you can use products specifically designed for leather, suede, nubuck, or fabrics. Always use a product that is suitable for each material, and test it first on an inconspicuous area.

Check out our care guide to learn how to protect each material.

Care instructions depend on the material.
Use products specifically designed for leather, nubuck, suede, or fabric. Do not wash your shoes in the washing machine, and avoid drying them near radiators, hair dryers, or other direct sources of heat.
Check out our care recommendations for each material.

Insoles and Accessories

We do not currently sell our original templates separately.

You can use other compatible barefoot insoles, as long as they have the right shape, thickness, and dimensions to fit inside the shoe.

If you have any questions about a pattern's compatibility, please contact us before purchasing or using it, and we'll help you with the pattern's measurements.

We do not currently sell our original laces separately.
These accessories are usually part of the original design and are not sold separately.
