Dear friends,
We know the wait has been a little longer than expected, and we sincerely thank you for your patience and support.
We haven't been absent, but rather fully immersed in an exciting transformation process.
After 16 years, we've decided to completely redesign our footwear concept.
We're creating something entirely new: a design that prioritizes the natural shape of the foot. This has led us to redesign soles, lasts, and molds to achieve a clear goal: to offer more space and freedom to your feet, guaranteeing comfort and health, without sacrificing the quality and design that define Dolfie.
For the past year and a half, we have tirelessly researched, tested, and designed. We collaborate with experts to develop lasts that respect the anatomy of the foot and innovative zero-drop (with no incline between the heel and toe), ideal for improving posture, strengthening foot muscles, and reducing joint stress. Furthermore, our soles are made with natural rubber and recycled materials, reaffirming our commitment to the environment.
We know the wait may seem long, but we assure you that we're getting closer every day. If you'd like a sneak peek, you can take a look at the images we've been sharing; they're just a small preview of what's to come. Very soon you'll be able to discover our new models, designed to revolutionize the way you walk, taking care of your health and the planet.
Why this change?
Did you know that conventional shoes can deform your feet? We hadn't considered it either, until the signs became impossible to ignore.
It all started with our 10-year-old son. Every time he wore our shoes, or any other conventional footwear, he complained of discomfort and ended up wanting to take them off. Family and friends also mentioned the same thing on several occasions. It was a real wake-up call. How had we not noticed it before?
We decided to investigate further, and finally understood the problem: conventional shoes do not respect the natural shape of the foot, which can lead to multiple health problems.
Our feet are a masterpiece of nature, designed to move with complete freedom and sensitivity. However, much of conventional footwear restricts this natural movement, affecting our posture and gait.
Barefoot footwear respects the natural anatomy of the foot, allowing it to move as it was designed. With thin, flexible soles, no incline (zero drop), and no excessive cushioning, it helps you reconnect with the ground, strengthening muscles, improving balance, and promoting a more natural gait.
More than just a type of footwear, barefoot is a philosophy: walking freely, feeling every step, and rediscovering movement in its purest form.
That's when we made a radical decision: to redesign everything from scratch. New lasts, new soles, new molds, and a complete overhaul of our production process. We knew it would be a huge challenge, but it was also the only way forward.
Furthermore, we realized that most of the barefoot designs we found didn't quite convince us. This motivated us even more to accept the challenge and create something truly special: footwear that not only cares for the health of your feet but also maintains the design and quality that define our brand. This challenge became the spark that ignited this exciting adventure.
For us, this change means much more than designing respectful footwear. It's a commitment to freedom, health, connection, and balance. It's about offering you a way to walk without limitations. Once you try this type of footwear, there's no going back. Your feet crave freedom, and that's exactly what we want to offer you.
We want everyone to experience this freedom in their own way. That's why each pair will include two insoles:
one 8mm, ideal for those new to barefoot running, as it provides greater cushioning and facilitates a smooth transition, and another 3mm, for those seeking a purer, more grounded experience, in keeping with the barefoot concept.
In addition, we will launch a children's collection, because we believe they deserve to grow up with their feet free, allowing their natural development to occur without restrictions.
If this is your first time using this type of footwear, keep in mind that your feet will need an adjustment period. Over time, you'll notice them strengthening and regaining their natural shape. This process can vary from person to person, but we assure you that, in the end, your feet will thank you. For those new to barefoot walking, we recommend starting with the 8mm insole to ease the transition.
One piece of advice we want to share: walk barefoot whenever you can. And when you do wear shoes, choose ones that are gentle on your feet.
