Why Choose Barefoot Shoes for Kids?
As long as the environment is safe, walking barefoot allows children to feel the ground and move their feet freely. When they need protection, lightweight, flexible shoes with enough room for their toes help preserve that freedom of movement.
The wide toe box allows your toes to move freely without feeling cramped. The thin, flexible sole provides greater ground feel, while the zero-drop design keeps the heel and forefoot at the same height, promoting a more natural posture.
Our Dolfie Barefoot Kids shoes are designed with a wide toe box, a flexible 5-mm sole, zero drop, and soft, comfortable materials to support the natural movement of their feet without unnecessary restrictions.
Choosing the right size is essential to ensure that the shoes fit well, leave room for your toes, and stay securely on your feet.
Below is a simple guide to help you choose the right size.
But before we begin…
Did you know that every pair of Dolfie Barefoot Kids comes with two removable insoles?
A5-mm insole, placed inside the shoe, and a3-mm insole, to customize the fit to each foot's needs:
- Are your shoes starting to feel a little tight?Switch to the 3-mm insole to create some extra room inside.
- Do you have wide feet or feet with more volume? The 3-mm insole provides a roomier fit.
- Do you have a narrow foot or a foot with little volume? The 5-mm insole provides a snugger fit.
- Are you looking for a better feel for the ground? You can use the 3-mm insole right away.
Two insoles to adjust comfort, interior space, and the feel underfoot as your child grows.

How to Measure Your Feet at Home
It's really easy!
- Place a sheet of paper on the floor, with one edge against the wall.
- With the child standing and his heel against the wall, mark on the sheet of paper how far his longest finger reaches.
- Measure the distance from the wall to the mark.
- Measure both feet. It's normal for one to be slightly longer. Always use the measurement of the longer foot.
- Find your size in the chart below and check which color zone it falls into. Whenever possible, choose the size that corresponds to the green zone for the recommended fit.
Compare it to a pair of shoes that already fit you well
If you have a pair of shoes that fit you well—preferably barefoot shoes—remove the insole, measure it, and compare its length and width to the measurements in our size chart. This is usually one of the most reliable ways to choose the right size.
Keep in mind the shape of the template:
- Flat template: You can use the full measurement.
- Concave insole: If it has a small raised edge around the heel, subtract approximately 0.4–0.5 cm from the total length before comparing measurements.
Measuring the insole of a pair of shoes you already wear and that fit you well may provide a more accurate reference than simply measuring your feet.
