Before choosing your size:

Very important: Dolfie Heritage models have an authentic handmade moccasin construction, and this directly influences the sizing.

Unlike other Dolfie models such as the MC5, the Heritage doesn't have a straight sole that restricts space. Because they're stitched onto an EVA sole, they offer a few extra millimeters of extra room compared to the standard insole measurement.

Also, keep in mind that they are made with high-quality natural leather. This leather stretches slightly with use and will naturally and comfortably mold to your foot over time.

Important: The Duke model deserves special mention. It's a loafer with a true moccasin construction, without laces or any other adjustment features. Since this type of shoe should feel secure from the start, we recommend the following: if your foot is at the upper end of a size, stick with that size. If your foot is in the middle or lower part of a size, we suggest going down a size, especially if you have average/narrow feet with little volume.

How to interpret the size guide?

In our table you will find:

The length of the insole (in cm)

The width of the insole (in cm), indicated in the boxes on the left

These measurements correspond to the inner insole of the shoe, not the total length of the exterior.

How to choose your ideal size

1. Measure your foot carefully

To accurately measure your foot length, place your heel against a wall and use a book or magazine to gently press against your longest toe. Mark that point and measure the distance: this is the simplest and most accurate way to obtain your true foot length.

2. Compare with shoes that already fit you well

If you have comfortable shoes (preferably barefoot shoes), measure the insoles and compare them to our insole measurements. This is one of the most reliable ways to find your perfect size at Dolfie. Also, consider the type of insole: If it's flat (like Dolfie's), you can use the full measurement. If it's concave (with a small raised edge at the heel), you'll need to subtract approximately 0.4–0.5 cm from the total measurement for a proper comparison. This method is usually more reliable than measuring your feet. The length of the insole in shoes you already own that fit well is the best guide for determining your size.

3. Choose your preferred fit: Find your foot measurement on the scale and use the color code to determine the fit type: light green, loose; medium green, recommended; dark green, tight.

As a general guideline, we recommend allowing a maximum difference of 1 cm between your foot measurement and the insole length, according to your preference. More than that may feel excessively loose, especially in a loafer.

The insole of Dolfie's Heritage models is 3 mm thick.

Width and volume of the foot

If you have very narrow feet: if your foot measurement falls in the middle of the recommended range or near the light green area – loose fit –, we recommend choosing one size smaller. If it is closer to the dark green area – snug fit –, keep the indicated size.

If you have a very wide or voluminous foot: if your foot measurement falls within or very close to the dark green area – tight fit –, we recommend choosing one size larger.

This last recommendation does not apply to the Duke model. For this model, follow the specific instructions included at the beginning of the guide.
