Hey Everyone,
It’s been a while since the last update.
Back in January we said we were pausing the sneaker line, and since then a lot of you have been checking in, asking when things are coming back, what’s happening, if we have any dates yet.
Fair questions.
So this is just a proper update on where things actually are right now.
MC5 / Dylan NS
These two models share the same sole and last.
They didn’t need a full redesign, but once we started adjusting the sole, it kind of snowballed.
At first it was small stuff.
We lowered the sidewall slightly to reduce the tension where the shoe bends. That also helped us take a bit of weight out and improve flexibility.
Nothing dramatic on paper, but you feel it when you wear them.
At the same time, we’ve been going quite deep into materials, especially the white leather on MC5.
From the beginning, we’ve always tried to work with leathers that feel very soft from day one, but still keep a clean, structured look.
Which is harder than it sounds.
The white full-grain leather we used took a long time to develop. When you put the shoe on, it feels extremely soft, almost buttery.
But the trade-off is that softer leather creases earlier. That’s just how it works.
So now we’ve been testing different high-quality white leathers, always keeping quality as the priority, trying to maintain that same softness and clean look, but with a bit more structure so it holds its shape better over time.
It might not feel quite as “buttery” on day one as before, but it’s still soft, just a bit more stable, so it keeps that clean look longer, which is important for us.
We’re not chasing perfection, because it doesn’t really exist here, but we’re getting closer to the balance we want.
Also worth mentioning again: all our leathers are responsibly sourced as by-products of the food industry, and they are part of the Leather Working Group. If you’re curious, here´s the link so you can read more about it. Responsible sourcing is something we take very seriously at Dolfie.
Supersonic
Supersonic is a bit of a different story.
When we first launched it, we worked with an outsole from a supplier we trust. It helped us move faster and test the design in real life.
And honestly, it worked. A lot of you really connected with that model.
So we started working on our own outsole.
Not to completely change the silhouette, but to make it more ours, and refine the details.
Fit-wise, it’s very similar overall. But we’ve added a few millimeters in the midfoot to give a bit more space there, and there’s slightly more volume in the front, around the toes.
Nothing dramatic visually, but you notice it when you wear it.
On the sole itself, most of the work has been around flexibility, weight, and durability.
We’ve been testing different Shore A combinations. Softer ones felt great, but wore down too fast. Harder ones lasted longer, but felt too stiff.
So what we’re doing now is mixing both. Harder rubber where the shoe hits the ground, softer in the center so it can flex properly.
It sounds like a small thing, but it changes everything.
HERITAGE ZERO DROP – Deck, Duke & Zen
For this spring/summer, we’re introducing two new versions of Deck and three new versions of our loaffer Duke.
We’re also restocking Zen 2 Brown, along with a new version in black suede.
Honestly, these feel like gloves for your feet for summer.
Dylan NS (special release)
In April, we’ll open the spring season with a special limited release of one of our best-selling and sold-out colors: Scarlet Vegan, but this time in a white version.
We hope you love it.
We’ll also be restocking Full Black, since it’s one of the most requested, along with two new suede colorways and one new Vegan hemp version (black upper with white sole).
Why it’s taking so long
Every time you change something, even slightly, it affects everything else.
New sole means a new mold
New mold means new tests
New fit means new adjustments
New last means new patterns
And then we wear them. A lot. Walking, moving, breaking them in, testing them across different situations, again and again.
There’s no real shortcut.
Where we are now
We’re still in that process.
Testing, adjusting, repeating.
Some things are already where we want them. Others still need a bit more time.
This pause hasn’t been ideal.
But it was necessary to reset certain parts properly, especially around soles and fit.
Once these foundations are in place, things should move in a much more natural and consistent way again.
That’s really the goal.
About timing
We know this is the frustrating part.
We could give dates for everything just to have them, but we’ve learned that they usually end up shifting, and that’s worse.
So we prefer to share confirmed dates once everything is locked in on the production side.
What we can say is that throughout spring and summer, we’ll be releasing all of these updates and restocks, along with a new silhouette we’re especially excited about: Starman.
This is just the beginning.
A few questions we’ve been getting quite often, so here’s a quick recap.
Are MC5s coming back?
Yes. Same model, refined, with new colorways.
Restocks: Black & White, LTD White, LTD W&G (very similar), LTD B. Red (very similar).
Are Supersonics coming back?
Yes. Same direction, new sole, better balance. Around 6 new colorways.
Restocks won’t be identical, but very close to best sellers: Grey, Green, Sand.
We’re also introducing two new versions: Super-R77 and Super-R86.
The first one to launch will be Super-R77, as it’s currently the most advanced.
It’s a more minimal version of Supersonic, perfect for summer, combining recycled nylon with premium leather and suede.
We’re really looking forward to showing it.
When is the launch and how can I stay updated?
There’s still a bit of time. The first releases should arrive around April/May.
MC5 and Supersonic will come later, around June.
We don’t want to give exact dates yet, because delays can happen during production, and when they do…nobody sleeps too well.
As soon as everything is confirmed, we’ll share proper dates through our newsletter, blog, and Instagram.
Thanks for sticking around and for caring about all these details.
